28 Day Organizing Challenge: THE PINK ROOM PROBLEM

I am taking on the Org Junkie's 28 Day organizing challenge, doing the whole room challenge. I have chosen my pink room. It is a spare bedroom that has become a catch-all. It is stuffed full of all kinds craft items, old toys, pictures, scrapbook supplies and a few other odd ball things. It used to be my daughters room; thus the bright pink walls.

The room has a built in platform bed. You can see the steps in this picture.

I'm not sure how to utilize the platform without putting an actual bed there. Which I don't want to do. Here's how it is being use now.

The rest of the room is just full of craft supplies, old clothes, electrical boxes (DH is an electrican), unwanted gifts I've received. And JUNK!

Here you'll see the scrapbook supplies for a Disney trip from 2 years ago and an old computer (I still need to get pictures of it).

How ironic are the storage bins surrounded by clutter (those aren't the only ones).

The closet is hardly used...you would think I would get some of the junk off the floor and put in there or at least push the suitcase all the way in and CLOSE the door but I haven't.

Here is a vaccum cleaner and a steam cleaner (still in the box) that really could find a better home in the storage closet in the basement (but I would have to lug them down two flights of stairs). Oh, and a dog "Cujo" he stays. :)

And finally more storage containers surrounded by clutter! Crazy!

  1. Definitely looks like a challenge! Why is it that those empty spaces always get filled with junk? I have 2 rooms like that!

  2. Are you kidding me, Heather? Your hubbie is an electrician, too?! :)

Love the blog, even if it is just a temporary one. It'll be interesting to see how you straighten the room up.

    Good luck!
